Batman is completely closed off; he tells nothing to no one

the Frank Miller quote:

“The noir hero is a knight in blood caked armour. He’s dirty and he does his best to deny the fact that he’s a hero the whole time.“

So Joe, by this definition is Batman or the Joker the noir hero? Or is neither? Or is both?
