from Wassie, before we begin step 11 ( with step 10 for the next five shares )
“Namaste! Hearing the voice of recovery reminds us that the We Program is the last thing we tried but the first thing still working. That is why we keep coming, and it is free of charge. Pass-it-on:
Although we enter recovery to heal a particular affliction, we find that, in the end, we have received far more than a specific healing of an addiction; we have received the gift of a profound spiritual awakening. In a sense, the healing of addiction have only been the stepping-stones to spiritual transformation and renewal. There is a phrase by which members introducing themselves by saying “I am a grateful recovering member.” What they mean is that there is an element of gratitude for their addiction or dependency since it has served as a key to a spiritual awakening. By sharing experience, strength and hope, we are Twelve Stepping each other, and continue to heal,…I salute and give thanks to all members for keeping the rooms of recovery open rain or shine. Take care my friend and stay well. I love you. Happy to be alive, the rest is a bonus. Gratefully, Wassie”
